Loyola Graduate Credits Scholarships for Increased Opportunity

Andrew Murphy

“These scholarships have meant the world to me,” said Andrew Murphy, a two-time Chickasaw Foundation scholarship recipient, “without them, paying for college would be far more difficult than it has been, and they have allowed me to make the dream of graduate school a reality.”

Murphy graduated from Loyola University of Chicago last fall with a degree in education and history. Because of these scholarships, he has had a tremendous experience. “My time at college has been an amazing period of growth which has reshaped how I view the world and exposed me to opportunities which I could have never imagined,” he mentioned. “I have interned at the United Nations, discussed domestic policy with a United States congressman and published research papers.”

He added: “These amazing opportunities may not have happened without the support of the Chickasaw Foundation and the wider Chickasaw Nation,” he said. Murphy noted that he intends to keep going. “I plan on continuing my education next year at one of several law schools which have generously offered me a spot in their 2023 class, and I look forward to the challenges and opportunities this chapter will bring.”

Chickasaw Foundation is extremely proud of Andrew and all his accomplishment and wish him the best!
