Chickasaw Foundation’s Donor Spotlight

“With seven (now almost eight) college degrees in our family,” said Wayne Edgar, a new scholarship donor, “we recognize the importance of education to enable you to expand your contribution to society.”

Wayne and Deana Edgar recently established the Wayne and Deana Edgar Family Scholarship with the Chickasaw Foundation, which is for Chickasaw higher education students (undergraduate or graduate) pursuing a degree in mental health counseling or mechanical engineering.

“Members of our family have received scholarships from the Chickasaw Nation, and now we would like to return the blessing to other Chickasaw citizens,” Wayne mentioned. “Our family has a passion to help others and especially to the Chickasaw people.”

Wayne continued: “We want to help Chickasaw citizens that have goals of self-improvement and increased contributions to society.”

Chickasaw Foundation is grateful to Wayne and Deana Edgar for their generosity and help in changing the lives of many students!

Chickasaw Foundation ECCP Spotlight

Chickasaw Foundation is pleased to feature Leslie Cook as our Employee Charitable Contribution Plan Spotlight!

Cook, special projects manager for nutrition services, has been employed by The Chickasaw Nation for 16 years and is proud to contribute to the Chickasaw Foundation. “The Foundation does incredible work,” Leslie said, “including awarding scholarships, supporting cultural events and assisting employees’ families in crisis situations.”

Leslie is happy to donate because of what the Chickasaw Foundation assists with. “They contribute to other state and national organizations that I truly believe in,”

Ms. Cook noted. “I am proud to be able to play a small part by contributing.”

Ms. Cook continued: “The Chickasaw Foundation has also partnered with our community nutrition team in the past and I am so thankful to have the opportunity to collaborate with them.”

Chickasaw Foundation thanks Leslie for her generosity!
