The Chickasaw Foundation works to promote the general welfare and culture of the Chickasaw people by supporting educational, health, historical and community activities and programs. Since 1971, the Foundation has sought ways to make a positive impact on Chickasaw citizens, families and communities. From scholarships and cultural education to disaster relief, benevolence and community initiatives, the Foundation provides opportunities and support when they are needed most.
Education is the biggest avenue through which the Foundation helps Chickasaw citizens. Since 2004, more than $2 million has been made available for scholarships, helping students pursue higher education and take the next step toward achieving their goals. The Foundation also promotes Chickasaw history and culture by providing Oklahoma schools with educational, hands-on experiences at the Chickasaw Cultural Center.
The Foundation’s impact also reaches families and communities facing difficult circumstances. Through its benevolence fund, the Foundation has provided more than $300,000 to Chickasaw Nation employees over the past 10 years, while its disaster relief efforts have provided financial assistance to thousands of families affected by natural disasters. Whether supporting a student’s education, helping a family through hardship or creating opportunities to experience Chickasaw culture, the Foundation’s work is made possible through the generosity of its donors—and continues to create opportunities for Chickasaw citizens, employees and communities across the country.
