Our History

The Chickasaw Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization established in 1971. For decades the Foundation has been driven by its mission “to promote the general welfare and culture of the Chickasaw people by supporting educational, health, historical and community activities and programs.”

The Chickasaw Foundation has assisted communities nationwide by funding disaster relief, school food pantries, emergency services, charitable organizations, scholarships, fellowships, and health and cultural opportunities.

With the generous support of our donors, the Chickasaw Foundation has awarded more than $1.8 million in scholarships to students since 2004. Additionally, the Foundation assists those in need through the benevolence fund or the Chickasaw Nation Disaster Relief and Recovery Fund. The benevolence fund has granted more than $290,000 to Chickasaw Nation employees over the past 10 years and has provided financial assistance to thousands of families impacted by natural disasters since inception.

As you consider your giving plans, please remember the Chickasaw Foundation. Your help provides continued and additional opportunities for Chickasaw citizens, Chickasaw Nation employees and communities across the country.
