Scholarship Donor Spotlight: Kari Fisher
“The Chickasaw Nation is the gold standard for community support,” said Kari Fisher, Chief Executive Officer and Chairperson of Centrion Systems, Inc. Fisher recently established the Centrion Systems, Inc. Scholarship with the Chickasaw Foundation.
This scholarship, which was established for the 2023-2024 academic year, is for Chickasaw undergraduate students majoring in aerospace or mechanical engineering, or business with an interest in the defense and space industry (with a preference for students residing in Oklahoma or Texas).
Nearly thirty years ago, Fisher founded Centrion Systems, Inc. “[We are] a full-time distributor of passive, interconnect and electromechanical components used to deliver to the U.S. Department of Defense, to support tools and equipment, on land, at sea and in the air,” she said. “I have a great team, and my job allows me to continually learn and interact daily with intelligent, interesting people. I can genuinely say I love my job and enjoy going to work every day!” Ms. Fisher decided to establish this scholarship because she has seen firsthand how much good the Chickasaw Nation does. “Chickasaw citizens have been very fortunate to receive tribal assistance through programs such as health and wellness, youth programs and elder services,” she commented. “Additionally, the Nation personally assisted my company and me when we worked to protect the Department of Defense Indian Incentive Program.”
For Fisher, this scholarship is her way of showing appreciation:
“I established this scholarship to express my sincere gratitude to the Chickasaw Nation for the support provided to our community, as well as my pleasure and pride, to be a citizen of the Chickasaw Nation.”
She is eager to see the impact this scholarship makes. “In establishing this scholarship,” she mentioned, “I am hopeful it will inspire students to study and prepare for a career path and opportunities they may have never considered but for the Centrion System, Inc. Scholarship.”
Chickasaw Foundation is extremely grateful to Ms. Kari Fisher and her willingness to establish the Centrion Systems, Inc. Scholarship. We are appreciative of her generosity and desire to impact Chickasaw students.
